Botanic Planet Canada  tinctures are alcohol-based tinctures they are prepared according to North American Pharmacopoeia Standard. Tinctures are extracted from the herbs (Bark, Flower, Fruit,  Leaf, Root & Seeds ) in 50% distilled cane sugar alcohol and distilled water at a 2:10 ratio.  This is standard method of extraction with alcohol which helps extract almost all active ingredients from a herb yielding standard tinctures. Extracts are one of the simplest ways to enjoy the goodness of herbs. Alcohol eliminates the growth of bacteria and mold while preserving the valuable constituents resulting in a much longer shelf life.

INGREDIENTS:-Grain Alcohol, White Sage Organic & Distilled Water.

Sage is a traditional medicine plant of the Native American peoples, used for healing and ceremony. It is used for cleansing and purification, and to open people up to a greater connection with the sacred. It is thought to banish negative energy, not only on the physical level, but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It has a very aromatic, sharp and stimulating smell, and its action works on all the senses. However it is honored in Native American tradition to be sacred herb used for sending prayer and working with the power of spirit.

The Native Americans used White Sage as a flavoring in their food and as a medicinal plant, they also used it to make "smudge sticks," a kind of incense. Sage leaves were bundled together, then burned - the idea being that the resulting smoke drove away evil spirits and purified anyone who was present. Traditional Algonquian First Nations culture used smudge sticks when sending prayers to the Great Spirit.
