Liquorice is a hardy herb or under shrub, usually of 2 m height. It is
tall, erect and a perennial plant with light, gracefully-spreading
pinnate foliage and dark green Lancelot leaflets that hang down at
night and have violet to lavender colour flower. The roots are brown,
long and cylindrical. Liquorice root has a good reputation as being helpful for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis and skin brightening. In one study, liquorice root oil, applied to the skin, relieved symptoms of itching, swelling, and redness. Liquorice root being an Ayurveda medicine is used in the making of serum in portions. Liquorice root serums work on all skin types, be it oily skin, irritated or mature and uneven skin.
