The root and stalks are very succulent and contains much water. The stalks contain pith which can be easily removed. Hydrangea is used as diuretic, cathartic and as tonic. The fluid extracted from the herb is used to cure earthy deposits, alkaline urine, chronic gleet and mucous irritations of the bladder.
