Grapefruit White Essential Oil

The grapefruit tree was originally from Asia but it is now grown and harvested in the United States, France, Brazil and Israel. The grapefruit tree itself is a large, shiny gloss-leaved tree, about 10 meters (30 feet) high, with white flowers and large, pale yellow fruit with white flesh. Grapefruit is believed to be a cross between pomelo and sweet orange plants.Grapefruit white oil (often referred to as white grapefruit essential oil) is a natural oil extracted from the peel of the white grapefruit variety. Grapefruit White Essential Oil is believed by aromatherapists to be a spiritual up-lifter, and to ease muscle fatigue and stiffness. It is also a purifier of congested, oily and acne prone skin and is sometimes added to creams and lotions as a natural toner and cellulite treatment. Grapefruit Essential Oil is reputed to ease nervous exhaustion and relieve depression. It’s popular in skincare and cosmetics for its refreshing scent, antioxidant properties, and mild astringency.

How to Use in Serum (Safely)

Usage Rate:

• Essential oils are very potent, so use 0.5–1% in your formula max.

• That’s about 0.5 to 1 ml per 100 ml of serum.

• Phototoxicity risk: Grapefruit oil (especially cold-pressed) can make skin more sensitive to sunlight.

  Use steam-distilled versions or include a label warning:

  “May increase skin sensitivity to sun. Use sunscreen while using this product.”
