Cedarwood Atlas Oil ORGANIC
Product Name: Cedarwood Atlas Oil ORGANIC
Botanic Name: Cedrus atlantica
Botanical Name: Cedrus atlantica
Extraction Method: Steam Distilled
Description: Cedarwood is a pyramid-shaped majestic evergreen tree,
which grows up to 131 ft. high. The wood itself is hard and strongly aromatic
because of the high percentage of essential oil it contains, and the essential
oil is obtained by steam distillation.
Aromatic Scent: Cedarwood Atlas Oil has a woody, sweet, sharper note than
Virginian Cedarwood, slight aroma reminiscent of artificial mothballs,
balsamic.
Common Uses: Cedarwood Atlas Oil is used by aromatherapists to assist
with acne, arthritis, bronchitis, coughing, cystitis, dandruff, dermatitis, and
stress. It is currently used in commercial soaps, cosmetics and perfumes,
especially men's colognes.
History: Originating in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa, in
former times, linen chests were frequently crafted from Cedar to keep moths
out. The ancient Egyptians prized this oil, mostly for embalming purposes, but
also for cosmetics and perfumery, and Solomon's Temple was built with Cedar
Wood. Today, closet liners and accessories are frequently crafted from Cedar
Wood.
