Called the "Divine Tree", Pau d'Arco has been revered by the Rain-forest Indians for centuries and is one of the most useful Brazilian herbs. Taheebo is helpful in rheumatism and arthritic inflammation, prostration, and controlling fungus and yeast overgrowth in the body. It is also used to treat stomatitis (swelling of the mucus membranes in the mouth), ulcers in the throat, gastric ulcers, syphilitic chancres, itchiness, wounds, eczema, and boils. This multi-purpose herb helps prevent tumour formation and is thought to eliminate toxins and purify the blood.
