Slippery Elm is demulcent and emollient. Useful internally for diarrhea, coughs due to colds, etc. Externally as a poultice for skin irritation and in rectal and vaginal suppositories. It stops diarrhea caused by irritation of the gastro intestinal lining and is especially good for soothing sore throats and irritated respiratory passages.
