Demulcent, emollient, diuretic. Althea's particular excellence Is soothing irritated tissue. A soothing agent to inflammations of the mouth, stomach, intestines, kidneys and bladder; also an astringent to these tissues and vaginal mucosa; an excellent respiratory syrup for sore throats.
