Root contains tannin. Leaf is depurative, bloodbuilding, astringent, stimulant, tonic, anti-asthmatic, anti-bronchial, diuretic, haemostatic, and vaso-constricting. Root is astringent. Nettle is traditionally used to relieve the discomfort and problems associated with asthma caused by allergies. It is effective for childhood eczema.
