Delta Damascone (δ-Damascone) is a high-impact fragrance/aroma ingredient from the damascone family. It is valued in fine perfumery because a very small amount can add considerable depth, diffusion, and richness to a fragrance. It is particularly useful for making a rose fragrance smell richer and more natural, and for adding a ripe fruity character without making the fragrance simply smell sweet. Because damascones are extremely powerful aroma materials, Delta Damascone is normally used at relatively low levels in a fragrance concentrate.
Aroma profile: predominantly rosy, fruity, plum/berry-like, woody and slightly tobacco-like, with warm floral nuances. It works especially well in rose, fruity-floral, woody, amber and tobacco-style fragrances.
